But, Valdes has been doing good in Barcelona ever since he got appointed as the regular goal keeper of the team. Well, he has broken a lot of records after joining FC Barcelona.

It was in the year 2003, when Valdes got appointed as the first choice goal keeper of Barcelona. Until then his position in the team was not set. There was a lot of other goalkeepers who were competing for the same position. But, Valdes was performed well during the early matches of his career and it gave him the permanent position in the team. The UEFA Champions League of 2006 was one of the turning points in his life. He got praised for his performance from his coach and this is much important than any recognition for him. He did well to stop a sure shot goal from Henry in the finals of the UEFA Champions League. In the year 2007, he broke the record which was in the name of Andoni Zubizarreta for a long time. And the record is that he didn’t got substituted in a whole season nor he had to leave the starting line up. This was the record that Valdes had broken after the last round of La Liga in 2007.

Valdes has set one more record and that is for not conceding a single goal in a European competition. And this was a club record which is specific just to Barcelona. He also got a record in his name for not letting any goal for four hundred and sixty six minutes until he was beaten up by Lyon.
